This master alloy is suitable for the production of 14 and 18 ct white gold investment cast articles without stones in place (Ni20Zn18). Rhodium plating is suggested only for the 18 ct alloy, while it is not strictly required for the 14 ct alloy, due to the good intensity of the white colour; however, the final decision is left to the producer. Only the 18 ct alloy is suitable for hardening. The gold alloy can be cast with all commonly used investment casting techniques. Lux 105 is sold by the gram.
