This Planishing Hammer is a high quality metal smithing hammer made by Fretz (who also manufacture Fretz Stakes) and this hammer is for forming & smoothing convex shapes. These Fretz Hammers are small versions of full size silversmithing hammers, but this size makes them useful for jewelry and small metalsmithing forming projects. These hammers are made with 420 hardened stainless steel, rosewood handles, and only weigh 125 grams. One side of the hammer is a bowed (49/64" = 19.30mm), the other is a round flat (49/64" = 19.25mm), and from end to end it measures (2-55/64" = 72.75mm). HMR-1
