Fretz Embossing Hammer weight is 100 Grams, small miniature hammer. This Embossing Hammer is a high quality metal smithing hammer made by Fretz (who also manufacture Fretz Stakes). Embossing is stretching metal by hammering it from the inside. Hammer domes small metal shapes while leaving very round small marks. These Fretz Hammers are small versions of full size silversmithing hammers, but this size makes them useful for jewelry and small metalsmithing forming projects. These hammers are made with 420 hardened stainless steel to 50HRC for durability. Hammer has rosewood handle, and only weigh 100 grams. One side of the hammer is a small round (15/64" = 5.88mm), the other is a ball (5/32" = 3.86mm), the length from end to end it measures (2-53/64" = 71.80mm).
