The gas saver is exactly that. Automatically shuts-off fuel line to torch when the torch is rested on arm bracket. An adjustable pilot flame remains lit. Re-ignite torch at pre-set flow when operator lifts torch for use. Gas saver may be secured on bench. It is not recommended for lightweight torches such as the Smith The Little Torch.
