Optimum Platinum casting is obtained with Yasui's VCC and its patented double swing arm. The arm assures the direction of the metal flow to be perfectly aligned with the flask sprue opening thus allowing a turbulent-free transfer of molten metal into the flask, this helps reduce porosity and metal spillage while improving form filling and metal density. Metal transfer rate from crucible to flask occurs between 1 second and 1-1/2" seconds therefore rate of acceleration and rotation speed (RPM) are critical to good castings. A large servomotor capable of speeds up to 500rpm at 0.2 seconds with 200 possible combination settings to control this transfer are used for this purpose. The ability to control the atmosphere, along with the optical pyrometer's accurate temperature control, are also important parameters for consistently achieving excellent castings.
